It all began in August 2018, when two young (and very naive) 17-year-olds arrived at Elon University, both convinced they wouldn't date anyone freshman year because they wanted the full college experience.

On the first day of Public Health class, Sydney noticed Max was cute, but it was just a fleeting thought. After class, they ended up walking the same way, and Max asked if she could let him into her dorm to visit a friend. She agreed without thinking much of it, never imagining that such a simple favor would end up the beginning of their story.

After that, Sydney and Max started talking all the time, and about a month into freshman year, they started dating. Almost everyone thought they were moving way too fast. They had just met, were only freshly 18, and their friends were convinced they wouldn't last. Thankfully, they were wrong.

Over the next few years, Sydney and Max grew up together, made countless memories, and supported each other through every new chapter. After graduation, they took on long-distance while Max was in law school. It wasn't always easy, but it made their relationship even stronger. Two years later, they moved in together and have been building their life together ever since.

Why Maine?

Maine has always held a special place in their hearts. Sydney spent more than 10 summers there with her family, and later, Max joined them on his very first family vacation to Maine. Watching Max fall in love with a place that had meant so much to Sydney made it even more special, and before long, it became a place that felt like home to both of them.

When it came time to choose where to get married, there was never really another option. They couldn't imagine a more meaningful place to celebrate the beginning of their next chapter than a place that has been part of their story all along. They can't wait to celebrate with all of their favorite people in one of their favorite places.
